Data Security Breach Class Action Investigation


Abington Cole + Ellery is currently conducting a class action investigation regarding a confirmed data security breach of credit card company Capital One. If you completed a credit card application with Capital One, then your information may have been part of this data breach.

A firewall misconfiguration enabled access to folders of data in Capital One's cloud storage space. Exfiltration of the data from Capital One's cloud storage space occurred in several steps beginning on or about March 12, 2019, and culminating on or about April 21, 2019.

The breached information reportedly includes approximately 100 million credit card applications, 77,000 of bank account numbers, and 144,000 Social Security numbers, along with names, addresses, dates of birth and credit history information.
